2024 North Carolina Surf Responder Summit
We’re amped to return back to North Carolina for our 2nd Annual North Carolina Surf Responder Summit in Wrightsville Beach on May 11-12, 2024, hosted in partnership with legendary East Coast Surfing Hall of Famer and Wrightsville Beach’s own Ben Bourgeois.
ABOUT THE COURSE:
BWRAG’s Surf Responder Summit is a two-day training designed for surfers of all levels and abilities. This course teaches you how to be a Surf Responder: an ocean athlete who not only knows how to mitigate their own personal risk, but who can also serve as an asset to others in an emergency situation. ***PLEASE NOTE*** This Summit will not feature the MRV rescue portion of the Water Rescue Module. Instead, students will role-play rescue scenarios where they will synthesize learnings from both days into tangible, practical rescue situations that are most common to this region.

CURRICULUM: Emergency Action Planning / Mindful Breathing & Energy Management / Water Rescue Training (Unassisted Rescue, Surfboard Rescue, Rescue Scenarios***)

Course Certificate of Completion (qualifies students to purchase the Patagonia PSI Vest; completion of a BWRAG training is a prerequisite for purchasing a Patagonia PSI vest. A BWRAG Certificate of Completion must be presented to Patagonia to begin the purchasing process).
**Refunds for Registration Fees will be issued in full for cancellations that are requested at least 10 days prior to the first day of the Summit. No refunds will be issued for cancellations that occur fewer than 10 days before the first day of the Summit.
