2025 San Juan, Puerto Rico Responder & Ocean Safety Summit

Join BWRAG in San Juan, Puerto Rico on October 24-25, 2025.

The Surf Responder & Ocean Safety Summit is a two-day training designed for surfers and ocean enthusiasts of all backgrounds, skill levels, and abilities. This course teaches essential ocean safety skills combined with hands-on practical application to help you respond confidently and effectively in emergency situations — for others or yourself. This course will be taught primarily in English with Spanish assistance for those who need it.

Day 1

• CURRICULUM: Ocean Risk Management / CPR / First-Aid and Medical Interventions / Spot Analysis / Safety Equipment

Day 2

• LOCATION (AM): Vivo Beach Club, 7000 Carr. 187 RR2, Carolina, 00979, Puerto Rico

• LOCATION (PM): Beach location in front of Vivo

• CURRICULUM: Emergency Action Planning / Mindful Breathing & Apnea Training / Water Rescue Training (Unassisted Rescue, Surfboard Rescue)

• Successful completion of the course includes an Adult/Child/Infant CPR & AED certification through Health & Safety Institute (HSI). All students will participate in this module, but you may waive this certification if you already possess higher training credentials (ex. BLS, EMT, etc.)

• Official BWRAG Certificate of Completion provided upon graduation. (This certification qualifies students to purchase the Patagonia PSI vest. The Certificate of Completion must be presented to Patagonia to begin the purchasing process.)

*Refunds for Registration Fees will be issued in full for cancellations that are requested at least ten (10) calendar days prior to the first day of the Summit. No refunds will be issued for cancellations that occur fewer than ten (10) calendar days before the first day of the Summit.
